The year 1971 was still an embryonic stage of immigration history among Korean-Canadians in Canada. Mr. Lawrence Kim, then an editorial reporter of The Korea Times (or HanKook Ilbo) of Seoul, established its branch in Toronto. This became the first Korean daily newspaper in Canada.
