looking for full time cooks

our team is opening up a new thai restaurant in downtown toronto (queen & mccaul) and looking for few talented line cooks. looking for an individual with 1~2 years of kitchen experience or recent culinary school grads. please email me at chris@saladking.com if you are interested. more details below -

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cook delicious Thai food consistently. Positions include hot line, wok line, and grill.

• Prepping ingredients, including making curries, cutting vegetables, etc.

• Maintaining health and safety standards of the restaurant.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Full schedule availability (any day of week, daytime or evening). Limited schedule accommodations may be considered

• Experience in food service and commercial kitchens preferred

• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada

• Must be able to communicate in English. Fluency is not required.

• Ability to work under periods of extreme pressure in a calm professional manner

• Must be able to stand and work in a kitchen for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and frequently bend and twist from the waist

REMUNERATION & HOURS:

• Full-Time position (4 - 5 days per week, 35 – 40 hours a week)

• wage - tbd based on experience level ($16-$18+tip out)

• Candidates with First Aid certification and/or a Toronto Public Health recognised Food Safety certification will be entitled to an additional $0.25/hour per certification.

• Paid meals and breaks are included.

• Bonus pay-out twice a year, based on business and individual performance.

• Vacation Pay % based on tenure:

o 4% for 0 - 4 years

o 6% for 5 - 9 years

o 8% for 10 years+

• Annual salary review, based on business and individual performance. Typically indexed to the Consumer Price Index.
